P.
ramorum Certification Program
The P. ramorum Certification Program was developed
to minimize the risk of contracting and transporting Phytopthora
ramorum within Canadian nurseries, to retailers and
landscapers, and out into the home garden and outdoor landscape.
This program is voluntary for Canadian growers and is a valuable
tool in assuring purchasers and sellers of Canadian plants that
a rigorous program including workshops, sampling and testing, Best
Management Practices and audits is in place to keep plants infection-free.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and BC Ministry of Agriculture
& Lands, worked cooperatively with BCLNA and CNLA throughout the
programs development.
